Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

The Ask Taara apps (“we”, “Apexpeak Learning Pvt Ltd”, “Asktaara” (web and application) hereinafter referred as “website”) is committed to protect the privacy of the users of the website (including third party service providers, hereinafter referred to as ‘astrologers’, and buyers/customers whether registered or not registered). Please read this privacy policy carefully to understand how the website is going to use your information supplied by you to the Website.

This Privacy Policy is published in accordance with Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 read with Rule 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011, Regulation 4 of the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as applicable, which requires publishing of the Privacy policy for collection, use, storage, management, and transfer of sensitive personal data or information.

We implement industry-standard security measures adhering to data protection and establishing a privacy policy to ensure the safe collection, use, storage, and transfer of your sensitive personal information. Users have rights to access, correct, or delete their personal data by contacting us, subject to applicable laws.

Asktaara ensures that all advertising and promotional materials for astrology and related services strictly adhere to the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) guidelines and Consumer Protection Act, 2019. We provide clear disclaimers in all communications stating that the predictions and advice provided through the platform are without guaranteed outcomes. Asktaara does not guarantee the accuracy of predictions, or the effectiveness of any services, and all services are provided with full transparency, in line with the applicable laws.

This Privacy Policy, which may be updated/amended from time to time, deals with the information collected from its users in the form of personal identification, contact details, birth details, and any forecast made using the supplied information and how such information is further used for the purposes of the Website.

This Privacy Policy is to be read along with the respective Terms of Use or other terms and conditions as provided on the Website.

Collection of Personal Information

Creating a user profile with Asktaara involves providing specific information:

Purpose and Use of Data/Information Collection

By collecting this information, Asktaara aims to create a personalized user profile that can cater to your specific needs and preferences. If you choose not to provide your birth details, it will not hinder the registration process — you can hold a verified account and use the parts of Asktaara that do not depend on them — but a personalized consultation with an Astrologer cannot be provided without them.

Information Shared with Astrologers

Astrology cannot be practised without birth details. When you request a consultation, the Consultation Details described above — your name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, and your time of birth where you have provided it — are made available to the Astrologer providing that consultation, for the purpose of that consultation and for no other purpose.

Service Providers

We use these companies to run the app. They process your information to provide their service to us:

WhatsApp Messages

We may send you messages on WhatsApp from Ask Taara’s business account, such as a welcome message when you sign up, and occasional updates and offers about Ask Taara. They are sent through AiSensy, our WhatsApp messaging provider, to the phone number you signed up with. You can stop them at any time by blocking our WhatsApp number or by writing to support@asktaara.com.

Advertising Measurement

We advertise Ask Taara on Facebook and Instagram. The app uses Meta’s software to tell Meta when the app is installed and opened, and when you register, start a free consultation, begin a checkout or make a purchase (including the amount), so that we can measure which of our adverts bring people to Ask Taara. Meta may also use this information to improve how adverts are delivered, under Meta’s own privacy policy.

On iPhone, the app asks your permission before sharing your device’s advertising identifier with Meta. If you decline, it is not shared and nothing in the app changes. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings.

We do not sell your personal information.

Analytics and Crash Reports

Google Firebase tells us how the app is used and reports crashes so that we can fix them. Firebase works out an approximate location, such as your city, from your internet (IP) address. The app does not access your device’s location.

Profile Deletion

If you wish to delete your entire Asktaara profile, you can find an option to “Delete your account” in the side menu. Click on this setting option and follow the instructions to complete the account deletion process.

Alternatively — including if you no longer have the app installed — you can request account deletion by submitting this account deletion form. Upon a verified request, we permanently delete your profile and personal data; certain transaction and payment records may be retained where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Personal information collected by Asktaara will be retained for as long as reasonable to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, to provide a smooth, quick, and easy experience for users, or as required by law.

Voice Consultations and Microphone Permission

When you choose a voice consultation, the app asks for access to your device’s microphone so you can speak with your Astrologer. Your voice is carried live between you and the Astrologer through our real-time communications provider. It is not recorded or stored, by us or by that provider. You can withdraw microphone permission at any time in your device’s settings; chat consultations continue to work without it.

Photographs, Camera, and Photo Library Permission

During a consultation you may choose to share a photograph with the Astrologer — for example a palm, a horoscope document, or an image relevant to your question. You may either take a new photograph or select an existing one from your device.

To offer this, we request access to your device’s camera and to your photo library. Both permissions are used for one purpose only: capturing or selecting a photograph that you choose to send into a consultation. We do not browse, index, scan, or upload your photo library, and no photograph is accessed or transmitted unless you select it and send it. You may decline either permission and continue to use every other part of the service; you may also withdraw permission at any time in your device settings.

A photograph you send is delivered to the Astrologer you are consulting and is retained with the record of that consultation, in compliance with our security standards, so that both you and the Astrologer can refer back to it. It is deleted after a reasonable period of time unless otherwise required for legal or regulatory purposes. Photographs shared in a consultation are not used for advertising, are not sold or rented, and are not shared with any other user.

Discretionary Warning: While Asktaara facilitates audio, video, and image interactions, it is not responsible for any content, advice, or actions that occur during these sessions. Users should exercise discretion during such communications, and we recommend ensuring that no sensitive personal data is shared unless necessary. Any information shared during audio, video, or text interactions, or any information shared directly to a third party using the platform (such as Astrologers or other users) shall not fall under the ambit of information protected by this privacy policy. Asktaara shall have no liability arising out of any consequences of sharing such information.
